Plot Summary

The film follows the story of two sisters, Joan (played by Joey King) and Ruth (played by Abby Quinn), who both work at the U.S. Radium Corporation in New Jersey, painting luminous watch dials with radium-based paint. At the time, radium was believed to be safe and even had health benefits, but the women soon begin to experience troubling health issues, including jaw infections, bone pain, and disfigurement.

As their conditions worsen, the sisters, along with other workers, discover the devastating effects of radium exposure. The company denies responsibility, and the workers face a tough battle for justice. The film focuses on their fight against the corporation’s negligence and the legal and social challenges they face in seeking recognition and compensation for their injuries.
